We’re very pleased to announce that 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS is available to buy securely online right now at CADSoftwareDirect.com!
A brief search online for SOLIDWORKS will quickly raise one question. How much does it actually cost to buy? Most, if not all, resellers for SOLIDWORKS do not show the price online, and instead potential buyers need to fill out forms and share information to be given a custom quote.
That is, until now. CAD Software Direct are now an official reseller, and the price for quartlery and annual subscriptions are right there on our site, ready to be taken through checkout just like any other software package we provide.
What is SOLIDWORKS?
SOLIDWORKS, originally developed by MIT graduate Jon Hirschtick, and later bought by Dassault Systèmes in 1997, is a solid modelling CAD engineering program – and easily one of the most popular choices for engineers.
At the initial stage of a project, SOLIDWORKS is used for planning, feasibility assessment, draft visuals, project management, modelling, and prototyping. The included tools then support the project right to completion with mechanical and electrical design features for the product, and a complementary suite offering device management, analytics, data automation, and cloud services.
Mechanical and electrical engineers use SOLIDWORKS to form an efficient design, all while keeping collaborators on the same page and ready to respond to design requirements or revisions.
CAD Software Direct have three simple offerings of 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS – Standard, Professional, and Premium.
What’s The Difference Between Versions?
With all versions, you can expect to receive access to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform (more on that below), the SOLIDWORKS application with a feature set representative of the tier you go for, xDesign for quick 3D modelling on the web, and the Derived Format Converter to freely move geometry between 3DEXPERIENCE applications.
The standard version of SOLIDWORKS is he entry-level CAD product. Create parametric parts, assemblies, and production-ready 2D drawings. Employ basic stress-testing analysis, rapid 2.5-axis CAM programming, and an XR exporter to simplify the journey from CAD to virtual or augmented reality experiences.
SOLIDWORKS Professional expands on the features available in Standard, and also adds easy access to prebuilt 3D CAD models and commonly reused CAD data, cost estimation tools, ECAD and MCAD tools, point cloud data handling, tolerance stack-up analysis, and a photo-realistic renderer.
This is the highest tier of SOLIDWORKS that integrates design, simulation, motion, product data, and advanced cable and pipe routing. Validate and evaluate how your product will perform through its operational lifecycle with motion analysis simulation, calculate the stresses and deformations of geometry with linear analysis, and enjoy control and flexibility when it comes to flattening complex surfaces from materials such as sheet metal stock for manufacturing purposes.
What is 3DEXPERIENCE?
3DEXPERIENCE is a single digital space to access your software and connect with collaborators in real-time – and is included with all of our SOLIDWORKS offers.
The 3DEXPERIENCE platform gives you access to a suite of applications to design, simulate, inform, and collaborate. You can start a project, and then invite collaborators to one unified virtual space. With 3DEXPERIENCE, everything is stored on the cloud. This means you and your team can access everything from any internet-connected computer, securely, and always on the latest version. Share what you want with who you want, and keep anything else private.
