What’s New In Enscape 4.2

Enscape 4.2 focuses on improving ray-tracing and improved workflows with Rhino and Vectorworks.

The new updates include:

Revit Graphics Override:

Enscape now reflects the same object appearances and overrides used in Revit. This can also help highlight structural details like piping or cable to ease communication with engineers. This feature is highly requested, so we’re really pleased to see it included in this update!

Support for WCS Mapping in Rhino:

Good news for Rhino users! You can now use World Coordinate System (WCS) mapping for materials. This can help with real-world scale and accuracy in your renders.

Software Ray-Tracing Improvements:

Adding software ray-tracing for global illumination and sun shadows provides high-quality renders on Macs and machines with integrated graphics. It also enhances renders quality for users with machines without hardware ray-tracing.

Multiple Section Planes for Rhino & Vectorworks:

Enscape 4.2 supports rendering up to six section planes in Rhino and Clip Cubes in Vectorworks.

Artistic Visual Modes Improvements:

Following the release of visual modes in Enscape 4.1, the adjustable texture controls in Watercolour mode have been improved. Additionally, Coloured Pencil and Watercolour modes now show the tints of the transparent materials instead of costing them in light blue.

Archicad 28 Support

Enscape 4.2 supports Archicad 28, which was released in early October 2024.

Enscape Impact Support

Enscape 4.2 also supports the new Enscape Impact plugin, which integrates sustainability reporting into Enscape. We will be exploring Enscape Impact in more detail on our blog very soon, so watch this space!
