Rhino User Webinar
Speaker: Boyan Mihaylov
This webinar will introduce some typical approaches for algorithmic modelling used in the design of Joris Laarman Studio’s products, illustrating how they relate to their design philosophy and visual language. Special focus will be placed on the parametric techniques behind several large-scale 3D-printed metal structures produced by MX3D – a workflow where sculptural logic meets mathematical one in a complex interplay between function, aesthetics and fabrication constraints.
Boyan Mihaylov is a Computational Designer and CAD Specialist at Joris Laarman Studio. Coming from a background in Architecture, he specialised in parametric modelling for digital fabrication during his projects with ICD at the University of Stuttgart. For the past eight years, he has been providing expertise on the digital implementation of complex designs in various scales, constantly on the lookout for innovative computational solutions for design problems.
