Rhino User Webinar: Designing the MIA Robotic Hand

Join McNeel Europe for an exclusive webinar on February 12, 2025, at 3pm GMT (4:00 PM CEST), featuring Guido Cherici, partner at Elastico Disegno. This session will explore the design process behind the MIA Hand, an award-winning robotic hand developed for amputees.

A New Approach to Prosthetic Design

The MIA Hand was created to be more than a functional prosthetic—it’s a design statement. It’s extremely customisable to fit the needs and preferences of the wearer.

The design process combined Rhino with Grasshopper and PTC Creo, focusing on Sub-D modelling to refine the hand’s organic shapes and details.

This webinar will cover:

  • How Sub-D was used to shape the MIA Hand
  • The role of Rhino and PTC Creo in product development
  • How Grasshopper was used to create customisation options
