“Changing Spaces: 60 Years of Designs with Habitat” is a one-of-a-kind exhibition at The Design Museum in Kensington. This unique event, running from 10th July to the 11th August 2024, will celebrate retailer Habitat’s 60th anniversary with a free display that delves into our evolving relationship with our homes.
The exhibition explores how design allows us to craft environments that resonate with our personalities. By choosing the right colours, lighting, and focal pieces, we add personality to our spaces. Creating flexible spaces for relaxation and well-being is essential. All of these things are central to Habitiat’s design philosophy, combined with an ambition to create a stylish but affordable range of homeware.
The display will be comprised of five parts:
- ‘Create’ will celebrate the joy of individualism;
- ‘Connect’ will consider design over the past six decades,
- ‘Transform’ will show how our homes go from day to night living;
- ‘Rest’ is an ode to the rise of the home as a retreat
- ‘Play’ will showcase Habitat’s fun and colourful side
The exhibition will showcase a selection of iconic home designs created by Habitat, alongside items from its current collection, as well as interactive displays.
