As of January 15th 2022, a new and more secure sign-in system is being implemented to SketchUp. Regarding this, Trimble recently released the following statement:
In an effort to increase security and better protect your account information, we will be upgrading Trimble’s sign-in platform over the next couple of days. After the change occurs, you will notice an updated appearance when signing in and will be prompted to re-enter your credentials (username and password) to access all SketchUp applications.
New enhanced security features include Multi-factor authentication & Improved reliability and security.
What Does This Mean for Me?
Quite simply – you will need to sign out of all SketchUp products, restart the application, and then sign back in again. You only need to do this once. Your licence and how SketchUp works will not be affected in any way.
You may also see an error message mentioning server problems. This is also fixed by signing out, restarting, and signing in again.
